
David McCallum has had a busy and varied career since leaving the Royal Academy of Music. He is currently a member of the BBC Concert Orchestra, and is also developing a parallel career in conducting. His outstanding playing in all styles of music can be heard on numerous recordings, including, of course, the Trafalgar Brass CD.
Martyn Lewington's mother likes to say that he was so small when he started that he needed help holding his trumpet up! Having grown somewhat, and graduated from the Royal College of Music, he has had a diverse career - playing everywhere from the Sydney Opera House to the back of a lorry, and in front of the Queen and behind a donkey!
Alan Jones studied with James Brown OBE at the Royal Academy of Music, and since leaving in 1985 has pursued a freelance career in orchestras, ballet and the West End, where he spent nine years in the orchestra pit of "Miss Saigon". He is also a prolific arranger and has written much of the group's repertoire.
Danny Scott studied at the Royal College of Music, where he won the Ziff prize for the most outstanding solo recital. As a freelance player he works with various orchestras including English National Opera and the Northern Sinfonia, of which he is principal trombone.
Kevin Morgan was a finalist in the BBC Young Musician of the Year, and runner-up in the Shell-LSO competition. He then won a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music. He is now a busy freelance player, working with all the major orchestras. His first solo album The Virtuoso Tuba recieved high critical acclaim, The Musician magazine describing him as "one of Britain's foremost tuba players".
